The Game Design class was about learning to create your own games using softwares like Game Maker Studios and Unity. I learned how to bring ideas for games in my mind and create them. I can’t bring all my ideas in yet but I think that I’ll be even to bring even more after Game Design 2. We learned that it is hard for indie game developers to create their games because of how small the team working on it is and of how low the budget is sometimes. But even though it is hard, I’d like to develop my own game someday.

My favorite project from this school year is the Roller Madness project. I really enjoyed the process of making it and even though it might not be the greatest thing to look at, I was pleased with the final product. While making it I learned most of the things pretty quickly. I did get stuck while adding health to the player but after a while of going back and watching previous videos I realized that I hadn’t downloaded the MSU Game Scripts package and I went and got that. Afterwards everything went pretty smoothly. My final reason for choosing this as my favorite project was because of how much more goes into making something that looks so simple but can be difficult if you have no idea what you’re doing.

I was not happy with how my planets textures turned out. I think that some of them were sloppy and could have had more effort put into them. Other than that I liked how everything else worked but if I could I would try and make remake some of the textures.

I didn’t have a good work that I haven’t shown so I put a picture of one of my favorite games, League of Legends.

Game Design was my favorite class of this year and I’m glad that I signed up for next year. Other students should take this class if they want to learn the basics of Unity and Game Maker. It’s really enjoyable for anyone looking to start learning how to create games. The information that you learn in this class will help you on your way to maybe one day making one of the greatest games ever and if not, then you still make a game for yourself to enjoy. In conclusion, my best work and not best work was the Solar System project and my favorite work was the Roller Madness project. Thank you for reading.
