Student Reflections - Video Game Design #3

C.S.
11th
3rd Block

In video game design i learned how to use the programs Gamemaker and Unity to create indie games. The material learned in this class is amazing if you enjoy playing video games. You can learn the basics of how the big programmers and designers create the games you play. You can create things the way you want it. The more creative you are, the more fun you will have.

This is my first game, i loved making it and the level designs are really fun to figure out. Your first games are not going to be golden masterpieces that break gaming records. If you want to feel really good about your first, set you expectations really low. Your first games are great for setting a base. Each time you make a new game, aim for a base higher than the one you previously created.

This was my worst and least favorite assignment. I had more trouble with this game then i should of had. The difficulty of some things that designers and programmers must suffer through are a lot worse than what i felt while
making this little game. But every little thing tried to prevent me from finishing. You learn great things from your mistakes, best to learn them before you start big projects.

In Video Game Design you will learn the basics of creating games. These skills are great skills to have if anyone is interested in game development. You will learn the amazing feeling of watching someone play and enjoy your creations. If you’re shy or scared to join this class because you don’t want someone to make fun of your creation, don’t be. When i was first in this class i was considering leaving and getting a new elective. I am happy that i did not do that, this class is the best one i had all year.
